Pumpkin project: part one

I have a fun outdoor Halloween project that I'm working on. Of course, you can't have a Halloween project without pumpkins. Pumpkins can get pretty pricey, especially the larger they are. So, how do you get the big bang for your buck? 

Buy the cheap ones! I've seen these little fellas for as cheap as 4/$1. 

I started using Martha Stewart's crafts stencils, craft tape, paint brush, and copper color gilding. 

I found a fun design that I liked, cut a small portion. I didn't want to cover the entire pumpkin. I wanted a rustic faded or aged look. 

Taped the stencil in place: 

Using my paint brush I used a very small amount of copper color gilding and lightly dabbed the color onto the stencil.

no priming, sanding. This product adheres quickly and easily. 

I also roughly painted gold color directly onto some of the other pumpkins. Again, I didn't cover the entire pumpkin to achieve a rustic aged appearance. Remember this is for Halloween. The overall look I want is: creepy!

This one simple step took around 5 minutes to complete. With very little product used this project packs a pretty big glamorous punch into such a simple little project with out spending a fortune.
