Do you remember my mini-makedo porch make-over? Well, we haven't really touched it since. Until I started making a "things I want done before the baby arrives" list. One of the things was to make our front door functional! You've seen these pictures here on my blog

Well, this is the entrance everyone uses. It is on the side of our house and leads you right smack dab through the middle of our kitchen. I hate using this door. I want an actual front porch entrance with a mudroom and a place that welcomes people into our home.
I know, everything takes time.
While this image may not seem like much to you, it means the world to me! My sweet hubby fixed our doorway so that this door actually opens. Imagine that....a door....that opens.
While this space still isn't much to look at, at least it is functional.
He even went as far as to build me some new steps. Don't I have the best husband ever?
Let me just remind you of how this space looked before:
then after a little makeover:
we're getting closer! Clearly, we still have a lot more to do, but we'll get there.
Now you know what I have to do now, decorate! How about a new wreath for my new door? I think so!
After searching, searching some more, then asking around on Facebook, I finally found someone that had an antique grain sifter. I was thinking this would be the perfect base for a wreath. It's round, has character, and is rustic in all the right places.
After doing my usual freebie "shopping" around the house (aka snagging plant parts and pieces from the yard) I added $3 worth of Fall goodies from the Dollar tree and a $2 bow from the local florist I had a beautiful, one of a kind Fall wreath for my new entrance.
If you have been reading my blog for long you know that Fall is my all time favorite season and this wont be the last Fall themed decorating post. Have you started decorating for Fall yet?

What a great start!!! I love all your rustic fall decor! I decorated my booth last week, and our office at work, but have yet to start on my own home. I've got so many ideas swirling I can't decide on the look I want to go with this year!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks very pretty. Love that your door got fixed like you wanted. So nice to have a handy hubby.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself.
