While I don't have the nursery done. I did accomplish warming the couch cushion today. I've been feeling all to pregnant this past week and haven't been doing much of anything.
Surely, someone out there can relate. It's pretty bad when my husband says, " I need a vacation. " and I respond with, " Nah, I feel pretty good here at home. I don't think I need to go anywhere. " He quickly responds with, " Are you sure? Laying around in the pool all day isn't getting to you?"
In case you can't smell the sarcasm .... it's extremely strong over here! I guess I haven't been doing much lately. But, hey. I'm making a baby!
I made some cookies. Does that count?
One of my all time favorite go-to cookies is Guy Fieri's Craisy Oatmeal cookies. However, every time I make it I deviate from the recipe ( as always.) For his original recipe stop over HERE.
With my big helper along my side I made some super scrumptious cookies that I like to call 'Craveable crasin raisin oatmeal cookies.'
Ingredients:
3 cups self rising flour
1 TSP cinnamon
1/2 TSP salt
1 1/4 CUP brown sugar
1 TBSP molasses
1 TBSP vanilla extract
2 eggs
3/4 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup raisins
2 CUP oats
1 stick softened butter
1 cup vegetable oil
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar, and oil with a mixer. Mix in molasses
and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, until fully
incorporated.fold in dried cranberries, oats and raisins slowly adding dry ingredients into butter mixture. Form into balls, approximately 2
tablespoons. Place 2 inches apart on parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake
until cookies turn golden, 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven to
cooling rack. Let sit 5 minutes in the pan before transferring to a rack
to cool completely.
Just as my cookies were coming out the oven my hubby brought in a special surprise that came in the mail. My Snapfish Layflat book!
Snapfish now offers a stunning 11x14 photobook with up to 90 lay-flat pages. I figured my finished product would be fabulous because I'm rarely disappointed in their products. But, I was super excited to get this book in the mail. I was surprised at how large the photo book actually was and my food photography filled the entire page and made it look so professional. I really do love the layflat feature. It allows for entire photos to be seen with out any hassle .
This was a fun little experience flipping through this book. I love having my recipes and photos published in FOLK magazine and hope to one day have my own cookbook! This was a neat way to keep some of my earliest work in a little portfolio of sorts to cherish forever. Thank you Snapfish!!
To order a custom made book for yourself, stop over HERE and get started today! After I was finished with my custom layout the book was finished and shipped to me within a week, they are always really good about quick shipping. Great idea for the upcoming holidays. Yes, I said it...you better start early!
Now, back to eating some cookies ....enjoy!
I've been loving your recipes and your photographs are stunning. I love that Folk Magazine recognizes your talent. The snapfish book looks amazing...what a great idea. Keep up the good work!!!
