It's the little things in life...

Yesterday I shared my living room make-over with you. Well? Was is as fabulous as you hoped?

It is more than I could ever want! As we were nearing towards the very end of them make-over it literally brought me to tears (maybe it's just the pregnancy hormones.)

I have dreamed all my life to be a designer. This is the first room that I designed and was able to actually bring to life. Most of my designs stop at that. Like bathroom makeover I did here or here

For a huge impact we built a fireplace. I love the look and feel of a fireplace. But, did you know this fireplace wasn't real?

A lot of people thought I was crazy to go to so much effort for a faux fireplace. Could you imagine a measly little fireplace mantel placed against the wall? It just wouldn't have the same effect.

We could have easily built a fireplace frame and been done. But, I always like to go the extra mile and add those extra special details.

My husband layed these real brick . The texture and warmth it added to the space just couldn't be replaced by anything else and the aged white wash finish makes the feel even more authentic.

How about this itty bitty detail? I had the kids pick something out that could be squished and preserved down inside of the concrete that was poured as a fireplace base. Lock, key, sea shells all give it a romantic feel and it's definitely a conversation starter.

Who needs a vacation when I have the beach right here in my home?
Another dream is to have my living room in the glossy pages of a magazine. Will you help me pin my living room and get it out there? Just click the little 'pin it' button underneath the image you want to pin! Share it on your facebook page, tell your friends, suggest it to your favorite magazine. Thank you so much for all your support and help! You are the best!!
