Happy first day of Spring!!
All of my living-in-a-fixeruper-house-blues is quickly fading away. All these beautiful Spring-like days have given us a chance to get so much done. We've been sprucing up the outdoors by getting rid of nasty over grown weeds and vines. The flowers and trees are blooming creating a beautiful backdrop for our less-than-appealing home .
I even got a chance to decorate my outdoor faux mantel. This mantel sits out on our back deck lining the pool (aka frog pond at the moment)
Being exposed the the weather , I'm limited on the type of things I
can display on the mantel , so I chose to keep it simple and fitting
with it's surroundings.
Spare firewood for our firepit
and some quilts to curl up with on these chilly Spring nights.
If you missed my original, Fall, mantel check it out HERE
For those of you following along , I wanted to give you a quick sneak peak of the fireplace progress going on in our living room. Hubs started framing up the faux fireplace in our living room this past weekend and we are going to start covering it with drywall and hopefully finish this entire wall this up coming weekend. He's really busy with two other jobs. So, I guess I have to give him some slack.
If you missed it , see what we did to the other side of the room HERE
Edited to add : OH MY GOSH! I almost forgot to tell you my big news! I hope you got your Spring edition of FOLK magazine . If you did, you probably saw a familiar "face."
My edible Easter Egg Nest photos made it into FOLK! This is my first time ever being featured in a magazine and I couldn't be more excited. If you haven't had the chance to view Folk magazine, be sure to stop over and visit their blog or chat with the team on FB . You wont be disappointed ! If you missed me in this issue, don't worry. You'll get to see me in the next issue too, featuring another yummy recipe!
I love how you take the most ordinary things and make them look beautiful! You have a real talent. Congrats on the magazine feature. :)
ReplyDeleteHow did your room renovation go? You should have hired a handyman to help your husband do the job.
