Today's post is inspired by my pregnancy craving of the week: Kale chips.
I'll admit the first time I made these and tasted them my thought was, " eh, their okay." Then I couldn't stop eating them and then days later I madly craved them!
I compare the taste of kale as very similar to broccoli , only in a different form. But, with kale chips you get that salty crunch you crave in a chip .
mmm...
Not to mention they are quit possibly the quickest and cheapest snack to make!
Give the kale a quick rinse under water then make sure you get as much water off of the kale as possible. If the kale is too wet it will steam instead of get nice and crunchy. A salad spinner would be perfect . But, I just settled with shaking it like crazy.
Then remove the stems by sliding your hand upward. The smaller stems are still yummy to eat. Just break all of your kale leaves up into small bite size pieces.
Toss with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
Bake at 350 deg. for 10-15 minutes. Then enjoy!!
That sounds delish...I'll try it! How did my Silverleaf touchup chandelier end up in your linky party this week? Hasn't it been a few weeks since I put that in? xo wendy
