boo-tiful display and a giveaway!

This time of year makes me cringe. Fall is fundraiser time at our local school.

enough said.

THIS year I receive a paper starting off saying.....your son/daughter has been nominated by his/her class to be prince/princess....blah blah....
ooo, neat!
.....big responsibility....we understand if you choose not to sign ...blah blah...
??
....sign to verify you are willing to put forth the effort in helping your child achieve prince/princess....

sign, initial,sign
silly me

{Let me let you in on a little secret. I live in quite possibly the smallest town in the USA . To be quite honest a county that doesn't have a lot of money.}

With that said I do love its quaintness (is that even a word?)
It's a comfortable and beautiful place to live.

So when I found out how much money I'm going to have to raise for my son to win this thing I was dumbfounded!

Long story short I have to come up with all sorts of fundraisers and there is a weekly bake sale at the school
(can you just feel my enthusiasm?)

The first bake sale is today! I'm a little strapped for cash so I had to use the dusty ol' creative bone. Thank goodness for the in laws for pitching in and making all sorts of yummy goodies . Since I really don't have much to sell I had to come up with a way to lure the little kiddies over to my sale and buy buy buy!

This is a mini moc up of my bakesale display on my kitchen table. I started with my 'Boo' flag. Too fun to make! So super easy too! I then had to find some cute things to display the goodies in. The height ensures that everything can be seen. I even put my rarely used cakestand/punch bowl to use.
You can do this too!
start with picking out your theme/color. In my case I used black and tan (any and all shades in between) and used a subtle cutsie halloween theme.
Scavage around your house for anything and everything! baskets, buckets, can, jars, cake stands, flower post. The possibilties are endless! You'll be surprised how many usful vessles you have around your home. Use your main colors/themes to tie everything together.
Don't forget to utilize your entire space including height!

This display cost me $0!! I already everything around the house. Holding up my 'Boo' flag , tree branchs from a tree outside ! I put gravels in the jars for weight and to hold the branches into place.

Speaking of my Boo flag. do you enjoy it as much as I do? It can be yours! I am going to be holding a GIVEAWAY for this boo-tiful (teehee) flag just in time for your HALLOWEEN festivities!

2.TWEET,YELL IT ON FACEBOOK,BLOG ABOUT IT.

  6. Oh, this is sooooo cool. I'll put up a link on my blog today. This is such a neat idea. And I love your bake sale mock up. I would totally come to your booth.

Halloween? Ummm.... Doing our annual carve pumpkins and sit out front to hand out scads of candy to our out-of-control neighborhood of kids...we get about 500 trick or treaters every year.

I'll put up a link to this right now.

  7. Hello MommaHen! Just found your lovely blog from Miss Jenny Matlock:)
    The banner is toooo cute!
Since my trick or treaters are too grown up to dress them up anymore, my favorite thing now is giving out candy to the cuties that come to my porch!
    Good luck to your prince!!

  9. I love your Boo Banner! It would actually cost me money to make my own because I just finished donating all of my scrap fabric to the Red Cross because volunteers use it to make quilts for people in need.

I have written in my blog about my annual plan for Halloween. I give out Mardi Gras beads to the kids. I have been doing this for several years now, and am known as The Bead Lady in our neighborhood. You can go to my blog and read my post, Mardi Gras in October.

Love your site! I'll be back!

I so wish I could be that creative on my own!! Love the look of your space -- I totally would have been a visitor!

This favorite thing about this time of year is decorating. Seriously love to decorate for holidays, and especially love fall decorating for the multitude of color schemes.

Your banner is absolutely adorable. Would be perfect on my piano...

Thanks so much for the opportunity! :)
